About the Organization

Partners In Development, Inc. (PID) strives to help the extreme poor attain independence and whole life improvement. PID was founded in 1990 by Gale and James Hull in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 2004, they began construction of their first medical clinic. The clinic provided primary care for 6,000 patients a year. In 2005, PID expanded their program to Guatemala. PID combines a variety of programs to achieve transformation in places where hope is often lost in the cycle of poverty.

·         Child sponsorships

·         Microcredit loans

·         Housing

·         Free medical care

·         Clean water

·         Satiation

PID organizes both medical and construction trips for individuals with a desire to provide service in Haiti. May 2017 was the second time Wartburg students have worked through PID at both construction sites, building houses and latrines, as well as shadowing in the clinic at the PID compound.
